RW2 Train Simulator update for content developers
RailWorks 2 is coming on October 18th and will bring a host of new features. We’ve worked very hard to maintain backwards compatibility, so we expect the migration to be quite painless. However, there are a couple of important notes.
1.RailWorks 2 will update your existing version of RailWorks
2.If you are making content, make sure you have backed up before the upgrade starts on Monday. If you are not sure how to do this, read below. Backups are not just for wimps!
3.The route development and blueprint tools do not change significantly with this release. There is no new learning required to create RailWorks 2 material.
4.We recommend that the new scenario timetable editor be used for creating RailWorks 2 scenarios. We will be re-issuing a new version of the Creator Manual shortly detailing this change. See attached image for how to access this tool.
5.It will still be possible to enter the World Editor from within the simulator by pressing Ctrl+E, but there are other ways of navigating to this. See the Quickstart guide for more information.
We’ll put the user manuals for RailWorks 2 (Quickstart, Drivers Guide and Quick Reference) on
http://www.railsimulator.com tomorrow so you can see what’s coming.
Hoping you enjoy your new simulator.
